ROCK ISLAND COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, FRIENDSHIP MANOR
ANNOUNCE ENDOWMENT PARTNERSHIP
The Rock Island Community Foundation and Friendship have agreed to a partnership by which Friendship Manor will establish a $50,000 endowment with the Foundation.
“An endowment fund helps guarantee the future support of our mission,” said Ted Pappas, Jr, Friendship Manor President & and CEO.
Friendship Manor has deposited $50,000 into the new endowment fund from the proceeds of its 8th Annual No Show Gala. The fund will be called “The Friendship Manor/Silver Cross Charitable Care Endowment Fund.
The Fund’s goal will be to ensure the continuation of the Manor’s long-standing, hallmark virtue of “never asking a resident to leave, simply because they outlived their resources,” said Pappas.
Established in 1967, the Rook Island Community Foundation has made grants totaling more than $2.6 million to 218 nonprofit organizations that serve the citizens of Rock Island.
“For more than 80 years, Friendship Manor has been serving seniors in Rock Island and nearby communities. The Foundation is honored to be able to help the Manor remain viable and serve residents for generations to come,” said Gary Rowe, Executive Director. “We invite other nonprofit organizations to establish an endowment fund with us.”
